Good luck to you, graduates of Gomel State Medical University!

On June 28, 2025, 145 graduates of the Faculty of International Students of Gomel State Medical University were awarded a M.D. Diploma.

Six years ago, these young people came to Belarus from different countries of the world – India, Sri Lanka, Russia, Turkmenistan, etc. And now the dream is fulfilled!

In the welcoming speech, Rector of Gomel State Medical University, Professor Igor O. Stoma, addressed special words of gratitude to the parents of the graduates who entrusted their children to such a far, but at the same time hospitable, open and welcoming Belarus:

— All these years you have supported your children on this difficult path to the long-awaited profession. And today let me congratulate you wholeheartedly — you are welcoming doctors into your families, representatives of one of the most noble professions in the world.

Rector personally presented the university’s letters of gratitude to the parents who came to the graduation ceremony in Gomel to share this special day with their children.

The event was shared by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Belarus, Shobini Kaushala Gunasekera. The Ambassador congratulated the graduates on one of the most important events in their lives:

— The severity of pain and the joy of healing have no nationality, they are ubiquitous, despite the borders that divide our world. That is why the mission of a doctor who brings help to people, regardless of skin color, age and social status, is so important and honorable.
