The Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics was established in 1996 in connection with the organization of the Therapeutic and Diagnostic Department within the Therapeutic and Preventive Faculty.
The first head of the department was Professor Gennady P. Adamenko, Doctor of Medical Sciences.
In February 1998, Igor V. Tarasyuk, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Associate Professor, was appointed Head of the Department.
The department's first teaching staff included assistants N.L. Sergeychik, E.E. Linkevich, and Yu.I. Yarets.
Since September 2004, the department has been headed by Professor Irina A. Novikova, Doctor of Medical Sciences.
