Insurance of foreign citizens

Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated 25.08.2006 № 530

• 236. Foreign citizens temporarily staying or temporarily residing in the Republic of Belarus, with the exception of persons specified in paragraph 237 of this Regulation, are required to have a compulsory medical insurance contract or a medical insurance contract concluded with a foreign insurance organization in the event that they are provided with emergency medical care by medical institutions (hereinafter in this chapter - a medical insurance contract).

Recommended insurance companies:

• Belarusian Republican Unitary Insurance Company "Belgosstrakh"

• Belarusian Republican Unitary Enterprise «Eximgarant of Belarus»

List of persons not subject to compulsory medical insurance:

1. 1. Citizens of states with which international treaties regulating the provision of free medical care are in force:

• citizens of the Russian Federation;

• citizens of Turkmenistan.   

• citizens of the Republic of Armenia;

• citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic;

• citizens of the Republic of Moldova;

• citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan;

• citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

• citizens of Ukraine.
