Insurance of foreign citizens

236. Foreign citizens temporarily staying or temporarily residing in the Republic of Belarus, with the exception of persons specified in paragraph 237 of this Regulation, are required to have a compulsory medical insurance contract or a medical insurance contract concluded with a foreign insurance organization in the event that they are provided with emergency medical care by medical institutions (hereinafter in this chapter - a medical insurance contract).
Recommended insurance companies:
- Belarusian Republican Unitary Insurance Company "Belgosstrakh"
- Belarusian Republican Unitary Enterprise «Eximgarant of Belarus»
List of persons not subject to compulsory medical insurance:
- 1. Citizens of states with which international treaties regulating the provision of free medical care are in force:
- citizens of the Russian Federation;
- citizens of Turkmenistan.
2.
Citizens of the CIS member states, to whom emergency medical aid is provided free of charge in accordance with the Agreement on provision of medical aid to citizens of the CIS member states, signed in Moscow on 27.03.1997:
- citizens of the Republic of Armenia;
- citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- citizens of the Republic of Moldova;
- citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
