Gomel State Medical University in international rankings

In recent years, academic rankings have become an important attribute of the global educational services market. The main factor in the competitive success of a university is its reputation in national and international educational markets. Rankings play a key role in this process: by getting into the world or national rankings in the leading places, the university dramatically increases its attractiveness not only for applicants, but also for employers, investors and the state.

University rankings around the world exist for more than 30 years: in 1983, US News and World Report magazine began publishing annual rankings of "America's Best Colleges". The first international university rankings appeared in 2003, becoming the object of close attention not only for universities, but also for governments and the public in different countries. Today, there are several hundred national rankings registered by the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, as well as at least 10 prestigious world rankings, and their number is increasing every year.

One of the strategic directions of development of Gomel State Medical University is to achieve high results in international academic rankings, which allows to effectively include the university in the international educational environment, and increase competitiveness in the educational services market.

Gomel State Medical University in the IAAR Eurasian University Ranking According to the results of the international ranking of universities "IAAR Eurasian University Ranking (IAAR EUR) 2023", conducted by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating" (Republic of Kazakhstan), Gomel State Medical University improved its position and took 15th place among 24 universities in Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.
