Admission of foreign citizens to Preparatory Department

Training is conducted in the Russian language.

Period of study is 7-9 months (1 academic year).

In the first semester, foreign citizens study only Russian language;

In the second semester – Russian language, chemistry, biology, and basics of medical and biological physics.

Training is carried out in the form of practical classes, attendance of which is mandatory.

Upon completion of training, students obtain a certificate of completion of the Faculty of Pre-University Training.

In addition to studying subjects, foreign citizens are actively involved in the university's student life.

Enrollment procedure

In order to be enrolled to the Faculty of Pre-University Training, an applicant must:

1. Submit the following documents to the dean's office of the Faculty of Pre-University Training (5, Lange street, office 209):

• application for admission to training in the prescribed form;

• education document indicating subjects studied and exam marks obtained;

• conclusion of the medical advisory commission issued by the territorial health organization of the Republic of Belarus (after passing the mandatory medical examination by the assignment of the educational institution);

• a medical report on the applicant's health and a certificate of absence of HIV infection (issued by the official health authority of the country from which the applicant is arriving;

• a copy of birth certificate, certified in the appropriate manner;

• ten 3x4 cm photos.

The listed documents executed in a foreign language, must be accompanied by their translation into Russian language certified by a notary.

2. Conclude a study contract and make payment for the entire training period within 3 days from the date of signing the contract in US dollars to the university's bank account:

3. Pass basic medical examination at the territorial healthcare organization of the Republic of Belarus and get certificates for hostel check-in and for passing medical examination.

4. After formalizing study contract and issuance of the enrollment order, to obtain temporary registration (temporary residence permit) for the period of study and stay in the Republic of Belarus. 

IMPORTANT! 

You must submit your passport for registration within 10 days upon your arrival in the Republic of Belarus. You can get your passport back with registration only upon presenting a certificate of completion of a full medical examination and confirmation of tuition fee payment.

RULES FOR hostel check-in

Foreign citizens are provided with hostels at the following address: 121, Prospekt Rechitsky, 170, Sovetskaya street.

The following documents must be submitted to the commandant for hostel check-in:

• passport;

• 5 photos;

• a certificate of completion of a full medical examination.

In the hostel, international students receive:

• temporary pass (a permanent pass will be issued after receiving a medical certificate in the Republic of Belarus);

• bed linen (taken from the housekeeper with acknowledgment of receipt);

• room/block keys;

• a copy of an accommodation contract in a university hostel.

Renting a private apartment in the city is possible. The cost of an apartment in Gomel depends on its comfort level and location and ranges from 200–300$ per month.

IMPORTANT!

In order to reserve a place in the hostel, it is necessary to inform in advance (two days before arrival) on the date and time of arrival of a foreign citizen and get information about the location of the hostel. Employees of the hostel give a hostel pass, room keys and necessary supplies.

    

PASSING A MEDICAL EXAMINATION

According to the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, all foreign citizens staying in the country for more than THREE months are required to pass a full medical examination at the territorial healthcare organization of the Republic of Belarus.

ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES

1. State registration fee:

• entry visa – 25$;

• entry and exit visa – 40$;

• temporary registration – 14$;

• temporary residence permit  - 40$ for ONE year.

2. Compulsory medical insurance (issued at the university) – 235$ for ONE year;

3. Compulsory basic medical examination – paid locally (approximately 70$);

4.Hostel accommodation – 33 to 50$ (per person per month).
